"Comic Potential"
Futuristic Farce Comic Potential Tinkers With Robotic Romance

Comic Potential transports you to a near-future setting where actors are replaced by "actoids" and the art of comedy has been lost. In this comic foray into science-fiction, there are two things that separate humans and androids: a sense of humor and the ability to love -- until an apparent glitch in one of the robot actors causes it to laugh. Now the android and an idealistic young writer will redefine what it means to be human. Written by Tony Award-winning British playwright Alan Ayckbourn (Private Fears in Public Places), Comic Potential was nominated for an Outer Critics Circle Award, a Drama Desk Award and a Laurence Olivier Award. Gordon Ellis directs Reading's Quannapowitt Players in this production that will challenge your perceptions of humanness and love.
